Your practice. Your information.

Privacy policy

Effective October 30, 2026

This policy describes how Eugene Buerkle handles information in connection with Jazz Chords Studio, a piano chord and progression practice app, and its support website.

Using the app

Jazz Chords Studio does not require an account to use its learning and practice features. Chord selections, keyboard input, and MIDI note messages are used to provide chord displays, sound, and practice feedback on your device.

The developer does not collect or receive your MIDI performances or practice activity. The app does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or tracking across other apps or websites. Your saved exercise (key, chords, and tempo) and keyboard-mute preference are stored locally on your device. The developer does not receive those saved settings.

MIDI devices and sound

If you connect a compatible MIDI controller, the app uses its note messages to respond to your playing. MIDI messages are different from microphone audio. Connecting a keyboard does not, by itself, mean that a recording of your performance is sent to the developer.

Font requests

The app’s stylesheet requests fonts from Google Fonts. When your device makes those requests, Google may receive your IP address and ordinary request information, such as device or browser information, to deliver the font files. Your MIDI notes and saved exercises are not included in those font requests. Google handles that connection information under its own privacy policy.

When you contact support

If you email support, the developer receives your email address, your message, and any information or attachments you choose to send. That information is used to respond, investigate issues, and improve the app. Email providers process those messages as part of delivering email.

Please send only information needed to explain the issue. Do not include passwords, payment details, or sensitive personal information.

Apple services and other music apps

Apple may process information through the App Store, TestFlight, and device diagnostic services under Apple’s own privacy policies and your settings. If you choose to use another music app for sound or MIDI routing, its handling of information is governed by its own policy.

This support website

The support pages do not include advertising, analytics scripts, contact forms, or browser-storage code. The hosting provider may process ordinary connection information, such as IP addresses and request information, to deliver and protect the website. Clicking an email link opens your email app; no message is sent until you choose to send it.

Sharing and retention

The developer does not sell support correspondence or use it for targeted advertising. Support information is kept only as needed to respond to your request, resolve related issues, and meet applicable obligations. Information may be disclosed when necessary to comply with law or protect legal rights.

Your choices

You can use the app without contacting support. Disconnecting a MIDI device stops new input from that device. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the address below; limited records may need to be retained for applicable obligations. You can manage Apple’s diagnostic-sharing settings on your device.

Children

The app’s core learning features do not require children to create an account or submit personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent personal information to support can contact the developer to request its deletion.

Changes and contact

This policy will be updated if the app’s information practices change. The effective date appears at the top of this policy.
